Group exhibition of contemporary jewelry "BENE FACTUM JEWELS", The Centre for Crafts of Castilla y León, Valladolid, Spain .

The curator of the exhibition is Salvador Vico, a contemporary jewelry artist and sculptor.

The aim of the exhibition is to show the public a different type of jewelry than the one they are used to. The Castile and León Crafts Centre, where this exhibition will be held, is a place of learning, both in jewellery and in other disciplines, where the exhibited works will have an additional pedagogical value. All the authors have recorded a short 1-minute video showing their work in the studio. The videos will be shown at the opening of the exhibition.

I am exhibiting a collection of jewellery called SATELLITES, a brooch, a necklace and a bracelet. The dimensions are approximately 10x10 cm wooden ornament plus "satellites", accessories, ornaments.
Material: wood, leather cord, resin, baroque pearl, copper, mirror, silver.
This is my text. INSPIRATION, materials and technique interpenetrate each other:
The SATELLITES collection belongs to my ENERGY cycle. The inspiration is the depth of the Universe, the energy that is created in it, the energy that created us and that moves us. Wooden square shape is the same in every piece of jewelry. It symbolizes our body. Satellites, ornaments, are life events that become a part of us. We accept them if we like them or let them go if they are a hard language in our lives. Satellites are replaceable. Symbolically, it is a story about life and changes and our power to manage our lives.
The depth of Space is black. There is a movement of different objects in it. I put different materials and techniques into the composition that leave an impression of harmony and organic interpenetration, an atmosphere that I want in my life, in our Planet. Harmonious interpenetration. I patinated the copper with silver gel to get a tone closer to silver, and I patinated the silver with a black patina to make it closer to the wood that is painted with black acrylic paint. The leather rope is wrapped in a spiral shape to leave an impression of the movement of energy.
The techniques are drilling a wooden plate with a column drill and filing the edges, melting and pressing silver into sheet metal, sawing, filing, reticulation, shaping of ornaments, filing, cleaning, polishing, patinating, painting, pouring epoxy resin into a ball, gluing leather rope into a spiral, another layer of paint and Zapon varnish at the end. There are many different techniques here and different stages of work for the expression of spiritual wealth.
